Big Music loose in Mexico and Italy
p2pnet news view | Music:- Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony BMG’s IFPI (International Federation of Phonographic Industry) is on a roll, reporting a Big 4-initiated shut-down of a DirectConnect hub in Mexico City, and a BitTorrent tracker site in Italy.
In Mexico, “The Sunnydale Hub had more than 1.5 terabytes of illegal content, including local and international music repertoire,” it says. “Users had to supply a minimum of two gigabytes of content to be connected to the service.
“The enforcement action forms part of IFPI Latin America’s regional strategy to shut down all hubs in the region.”
And in Italy, “Colombo-BT.org helped to make available more than 390,000 music files and 500,000 movie files, including numerous pre-release titles,” it says.
They have no idea, do they?

Sounds to me like they trying to make a big deal out of almost nothing. Reading between the lines it says, “We were successful in shutting down some very small time operations and now want huge credit recognition for such a minor task. A DC hub with 1.5 TiBs is next to nothing. Crap there are users that host two times that by themselves and under such daffynitions, they could be a hub all by themselves. In today’s world of terabyte drives, that’s not much of a feather in the cap. Rather it says how low they will stoop to try and take credit for anything.

1.5 TB that’s just 3 nowadays over the shelf HDD
Or only 1.5 of those nice WD 1 TB external USB harddrives that I saw last week advertised for 129 Euro in a local electronic marked here in germany.
So come again, what is so significant having 1.5 TB “illegal”-content?

Are the 2 Tb’s available yet? Yeah anyway, these kind of busts aren’t gonna be very profitable are they?
