Sony pays costly Britney Spears Vuitton bill
p2pnet news view | Music:- Usually, manufacturers and promoters are falling over themselves to get celebrities to wear, carry, eat or drink their stuff, p2pnet posted last year.
But not luxury baggage maker Luis Vuitton.
“Instead, it’s sued poor old Britney Spears for using its logo in a video featuring a pinkmobile,” we went on.
But it was Big 4 organised music member Sony BMG who ended up paying the bill.
“An agreement was reached between Louis Vuitton and Sony BMG last week,” says Mosnar Communications.
Louis Vuitton was, “suing the record label for allowing its artists, like Da Brat, Britney Spears and former American Idol Ruben Studdard, to use their company’s signature Toile monogram and Multicolor trademarks without permission in music videos and CD inserts.
According to the Canadian Press, “Sony will pay Louis Vuitton C$151,427″ and, “will make another, undisclosed payment over a Ruben Studdard CD.”
Sony must, “also stop making and distributing Ruben Studdard’s ‘The Return’ CD or products that feature disputed Louis Vuitton property,” adds the story.
If you want to see what all the fuss was about, at least as far as Spears was concerned, here’s a YouTube video. But you’ll have to watch closely to spot the transgression.

I guess it is a case of you can use it untill your not famous, or fall off the sanity wagon.
When you do we’ll sue you.
I guess we must be naked and by a blank wall for every picture we take now less we risk a lawsuit for having merchandise in the picture (and then we’ll get arrested for pornographic images)

Ed the Sock: This video was so bad, it wasn’t even released in the US, but it somehow made it into high rotation on Much Music, you do the math.

Isn’t ‘member’ a euphemism for the male organ?
Just asking
