RIAA goes after Michigan State University coach

p2pnet news view | RIAA News:- Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll (right) is a thief and a criminal, according to Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony BMG philosophy.

She’s a “massive online distrtibutor” of corporate ‘product,” says the Big 4’s RIAA.

She’s also Michigan State University’s women’s golf coach and , “As she enters her 11th season at the helm, Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll continues to carry the Spartan women’s golf program into the regional and national spotlight year after year,” says her MSU Spartans profile.

If Big 4 machinations don’t get in the way, that is.

No doubt much, if not all, of their so-called “evidence’ against her was collected by RIAA ‘private eye’ MediaSentry.

Massachusetts State Police ordered it  to cease and desist, p2pnet posted yesterday, going on »»»

So did it C&D?Nope.

Another complaint was lodged against MediaSentry by North Carolina State University students in Raleigh.

They charged it with the crime of unlicensed investigation.

And now its troubles have doubled. Or is it tripled? Or maybe even quadrupled?

The Central Michigan University filed a complaint against it with Michigan’s Department of Labor and Economic Growth,  says Recording Industry vs The People’s Ray Beckerman.

Slobodnik-Stoll , “allegedly illegally downloaded and distributed copyrighted music, according to a “federal lawsuit filed this week” against her, says The Grand Rapids Press, going on

“The civil lawsuit against Slobodnik-Stoll claims she used peer-to-peer file copying networks and distribution systems to obtain or share 73 audio files beginning May 29, 2007.”

Not only but also, “Seven media conglomerates, including Warner Bros. and Sony, contend she continues to violate copyrighted music,” says the story, adding:

“Her actions rob labels’ profits and their ability to develop new bands, the Recording Industry Association of America said.”

Riiiight.
