‘Oh! The Pain!’ as Gmail goes down
p2pnet news view | Products:- It’s truly scary how so many people depend absolutely on Google as their be-all and end-all in so many areas —- as the place to store the documents, for their email accounts, their health records, for walking the dog.
Well, not quite that, maybe. But you get the picture.
Yesterday, “Many of you had trouble accessing Gmail for a couple of hours this afternoon, and we’re really sorry,’ says the official Google blog under the ridiculous heading, We feel your pain, and we’re sorry.
We feel your pain?
Yup.
Anyhow, “The issue was caused by a temporary outage in our contacts system that was preventing Gmail from loading properly,” it goes on.
“Everything should be back to normal by the time you read this.”
Back to normal a la Google, that is.
It adds:
“We don’t usually post about problems like this on our blog, but we wanted to make an exception in this case since so many people were impacted. In general, though, if you spot a problem with your Gmail account, please visit the Gmail Help.”
Now you know.

Bohoo. Big phocking deal.
Google do a better job of keeping their services up and running than the IT departments of ALL of the companies I’ve worked for (the majority beingl large, known companies).

“Google apologizes for a little downtime and you give them flack about it?”
Just another day on P2Pnet. Jon has a hate campaign against Google.
