Guitar prodigy Tallan ‘T-Man’ Latz
p2pnet news view | Music:- That’s Tallan ‘T-Man’ Latz on the left, performing in Chicago.
You definitely wouldn’t know he’s only eight by listening to him —- until you hear him speak.
“Tallan Noble Latz (aka: The T-Man) now just turning 8 years old, seems to be destined for the big stage,” says his press kit.
Press kit? Yup.
He’s been playing music since the age of three, picking up the guitar for the first time at four and finally getting serious about the guitar at age five, it says, going on »»»
At the age of 5 Tallan asked for an electric guitar for Easter after watching a video of Joe Satriani. He had his choice between a guitar, a remote control boat or a new bike. He chose the guitar. The stipulation was that if he got the guitar he must take lessons and practice. He has done both every since and has never looked back!
He’s now a seasoned performer drawing capacity crowds at blues venues.
Then, Tallan’s agent, Sharon Pomaville, received a threatening letter warning her to stop booking the boy,” says the Associated Press, going on she thinks it’s from a local musician and, “believes he’s harmless”.
Greg Koch, 42, an internationally known guitarist and clinician for Fender Musical Instruments, called the backlash despicable, says the story.
Meanwhile, T-Man’s dad, Carl, says his son knows 30 to 40 songs and someday hopes to write his own.
“It was his idea to start playing in public,” he told AP. “He drags me around. I don’t drag him around.”
But the problems the blues prodigy is facing haven’t dampened his ambition to be a blues rock star when he grows up, the story adds.
The rest will definitely be history.
