Now, however, she has a chance to redeem herself.

In fact, she helps host Russell Brand promote this year’s VMAs, says MTV, going on:

“Talk about an elephant in the room!”

Says the Los Angeles Times:

“Britney Spears got raves this week for her promo (with her VMA co-host Russell Brand) for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards (with – ahem – an amusing elephant in the room to symbolize her disasterous, stumbling, lingerie-clad comeback on last year’s show).”

Wonder what happened to the plans for her to star as the Virgin Mary in a French movie production?
