We are deeply saddened that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia.
LeRoi had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program.
Moore was a jazz musician in Charlottesville when he joined forces with Matthews early in 1991, says MTV, adding:
“The band released its first album, Remember Two Things, on its own Bama Rags label late in 1993. That album was recorded live, and DMB have gone on to become one of the most successful live acts in North America.”
He was only 46.

Leroi was an amazing part of the DMB masterpiece. I feel so bad for his family and friends who lost him. It was such a pleasure to listen to this man live in concert. Truly a wonderful musician.

My sympathy goes out to The DMB.I will always remember their songs playing in my sons room as the first time I was ”introduced”to them.My son,who is now a great musician himself, was influenced by DMB,as well as others. But you stick in my mind the most.God be with you all and help you remember alot of good times.
