Jessica Simpson: beer promoter

p2pnet news view | Advertising:- You’d think that with all the trouble booze is causing entertainment cartel stars and starlets they’d be avoiding alcohol like to plague.

But that’s not the case.

First Sylvester Stallone, “whose film character John Rambo killed Soviet troops by the dozen in Afghanistan and whose Rocky Balboa humiliated Soviet boxer Ivan Drago,” is to “shill” a brand of Russian vodka, said the Associated Press recently, going on.

“Sources valued the deal at $1 million.  Stallone will pitch the product under the slogan: ‘There is a bit of Russian in all of us’.”

Now, “Everyone knows about Jessica Simpson’s daisy dukes body and healthy lifestyle,” says a press release.

And that makes her the perfect candidate to front a beer for “stallions” and “fillies”.

“The all-American beauty and world-renowned entertainer has a passion for working out and making healthy food choices,” says the puff piece, quoting her as saying:

“Yes, I work out and take care of myself, but I also like a cold beer once in a while.”

Enter a, “new light beer with functional additives is Simpson’s new favorite beer — Stampede Light Plus(R).”

Functional additives, eh?

The statement goes on, “Stampede Brewing Co. was looking for a global icon that represented its core values: healthy living, individuality, and personal responsibility.  Jessica Simpson, an entrepreneur in her own right, was the obvious choice.”

‘Global icon.’ Riiiight.

The company even uses former British war time leader Sir Winston Churchill in its advertising, declaring »»»

Winston Churchill once said, “I have taken more out of alcohol is alcohol is taken out of me.” We wouldn’t want to argue with wise, old Winston. But, still, he’s only partly right.

Oh! How’s that?

“Drinking alcohol does take something out of your,” says the ad blurb, “vitamins”.

Oh.

But not to worry. Stampede Light is boosted by a “little extra ‘plus’.”

Plus what?

The ad doesn’t say, but the implication is it has vitamins and is therefore good for you.

And if Jessica likes it ……

One Response to “Jessica Simpson: beer promoter”

  1. Thinker Says:

Alcohol support by famous people is kids play. The big game is by politicians.

McCain’s household fortune comes from alcohol (beer) and the question is if McCain, the Vietnam “hero” (or war criminal in Vietnam), in addition to war, will he promote alcohol so that the value of the MaCain household investments grow?

The last president was a from-the-petroleum-industry-president and he invaded the #2 petroleum country.

McCain, should he win, will be the from-the-military and from-the-alcohol-industry president.

What then, will McCain do for his industries?
