Sheryl Crow on Rock the Vote
p2pnet news view Music | Politics:- With the elections to choose the next leader of the not-so-free world nigh, Rock the Vote aims at getting America’s youth to vote, using music to make its point.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1990 by Jeff Ayeroff “for the purposes of political advocacy,” says the Wikipedia, Rock the Vote’s stated mission is to “build the political clout and engagement of young people in order to achieve progressive change” in the US.
The first campaign was called, “Censorship is UnAmerican” and in 2008, whether it’s, “Madonna wrapping herself in the flag for the first Rock the Vote PSA or Snoop Dogg launching us on our bus tour in 2004, Rock the Vote works with artists who really believe in and promote our mission,” says the organisation.
“Lenny Kravitz, Diddy, N*E*R*D, and the Black Eyed Peas are just some of the artists who have supported us in engaging young people in the political process.”
On the bandwaggon this time around is Sheryl Crow.
The first 50,000 people to get three friends to register will get her album Detours for free.

Took a while to figure out why this is news, that last sentence. Bribing for voters are we? Sounds like a odd variation of a triangle or pyramid scheme. Except its positive because its voting? Just how free is that album anyway?
I honestly couldn’t care less about Sheryl Crow, but thats just my own opinion.
