p2pnet news view | Mobiles:- Apple (or it is Rogers?) is apparently looking to boost interest in the iPhone with the help of an erotic, semi-naked model peering coyly and, it hopes, temptingly at surfers.
When we were surfing around looking for inspiration for posts, we came across the pic on the right in eCanada Now.
It’s alongside a story which kicks off, “Rogers Communications says it is extending the $30/month data plan” on the $6,132.74 iPhone to, “spur sales of smartphones”.
Rogers tried to screw existing and potential customers when it introduced the phone, but long and loud online complaints forced it to back down, ultimately offering a temporary $30/month data plan, the one referred to in the story
The current ‘deal’ allows Rogers to set the hook for, “iPhones owners, other smartphones and computer laptop aircards” by ‘allowing’ them to download up to six gigs a month —— until the end of September.
“Rogers will eventually introduce a $25/month plan for iPhone and smartphone owners on Oct 1 that will allow 500 megabytes of downloading per month, which will be bundled with a three-month promotion of unlimited usage,” adds eCanada Now. “Another plan will allow one gigabyte of usage for $30.”

Gee, how did anyone every survive in the time before people were able to download data to their pocket status symbols?
I used to have a pre-paid phone, but I still had to put time on it every month. After the third time of missing the renewal date (if you renewed early, it starts counting from THAT date, not the end of the month) and losing my minutes, I said “screw it!” and haven’t given them a single penny since.
A woman I know only has a cell phone. It’s impossible to have a conversation with her that lasts more than about 5 minutes because that’s how long it is between cell phone rings.
