Nova Scotia playwright in hostage drama
p2pnet news view | Crime:- It was all a big misunderstanding, says Nova Scotian playwright Carol Sinclair, arrested after allegedly threatening to hold a Net technician hostage.
She’s charged with forcibly confining an Aliant technician and, “uttering a threat against him,” says the Canadian Press.
But, “There was no hostage taking, no firearm, he wasn’t touched in any way,” Sinclair, 53, says in the story. “The statement he made was just wild, it didn’t make any sense at all.”
Security cameras will help substantiate her assertion, she promises.
She, “was just frustrated after dealing with a backlog of work and the Internet glitch,” says CP, adding according to police, the tech who’d been supposedly held hostage apparently couldn’t fix the Net problem and Sinclair told him he wasn’t leaving until it was working and, “that she was keeping him hostage,” says the story.
But the tech was “able to leave the apartment and contact police,” who, “subsequently arrested Sinclair”.
