Sony recalls not 73,000, but 438,000 laptops!
p2pnet news view | Products:- Yesterday, “Deeply troubled Sony has been beset by more flaming (potentially) computer problems,” reported p2pnet, going on:
“Owners of some 73,000 Sony Vaio TZ-series notebooks should ’should stop using’ them immediately and contact Sony.”
We were quoting Sony itself but, “actually according to the BBC its 440,000 laptops,” said a Reader’s Write, “but not those from the UK
.”
Surely not?
But Yes, the comment poster was correct.
The 73,000 number applied only to the US and worldwide, “Japan’s Sony Corp has launched a voluntary recall of 438,000 Vaio portable computers, citing a potential hazard that could cause the machines to overheat or possibly burn a user,” says Reuters.
Four hundred and thirty-eight thousand?
“The recalled notebook computer models are the VAIO VGN-TZ100 series, VGN-TZ200 series, VGN-TZ300 series and VGN-TZ2000 series,” says Sony. “The computers’ screen size is about 11.1″ measured diagonally.”
It’s getting harder and harder to trust Sony, if indeed you ever did.
