Entertainers are "background noise" at best. They never build anything, develop anything, invent anything, cure anything or fix anyghing. They just hoard wealth and look down on those who have "earned" similar wealth. Why can't they just crawl back into their drug-induced lair?

I didnt think most artists even own the rights to the songs. Most of the labels own the rights and they can use them for whatever they want. Some musicians will sing a song that wasnt even writen by them, they just perform it. And if an organization like the Republican party or other organizations pay a monthly fee to SOCAN or ASCAP for playing music at conventions or other eventsc an artists still tell them not to play their music??

It would be like a band or musician getting offended by their song being played at a strip club while someone is stripping onstage to their song. They still pay a fee to the artists.

Im really sick and tired of famous people promoting a certain canadiate and using their media persona as a way to try to influence people who should really decide for themselves.

Nice to see the politicians are getting a little taste of what they have created with all the mishmash of copyright laws. They are getting to see first hand just what a PNA it is. There isn't anything like first hand experience in dealing with this.

However in another article I read dealing with this topic, it appears the McCain camp did indeed purchase the right to use the Barracuda song. This particular instance, the Heart sisters don't wish their music to be associated with the McCain campaign. The other song writer involved with the creation of the song is fine with it's use and proud that it is being played. I take it from the context I read that the Heart sisters may not be McCain supporters. Since they have purchased the right to use the song, I believe the DMCA request will go no where. It does show where once again, the artists are second class citizens at best in the major labels eyes.
