But that wasn’t the half of it. Nor was ’silly’ the correct word.

Just plain stupid might have been better.

George W. Harper’s  conservatives are offering treacly ads attempting to portray him as just one of the guys, an ordinary, home-loving, down-to-earth dad. Because, ooze the ads, at heart, he’s one of them.

They’re bad enough, but he also took a really cheap shot at Liberal leader Stéphane Dion in an ad which featured a puffin flying over Dion’s shoulder and —- let’s not mince words here —- shitting, not sitting, on it.

p2pnet’s amazing stop-frame technology was able to capture the moment.

Predictably, there was outrage across the nation and Harper had to pull the ad.

But he’s forgetting one important element: these days, the Net has to be taken into account and online, nothing vanishes.
