Pink Floyd’s Richard Wright dies at 65
p2pnet news view | Music:- Pink Floyd founder Richard Wright has died from cancer at the age of 65.
A key figure, “behind the masterpiece, Dark Side Of The Moon,” with Dave Gilmour he, “moved the band through to a new era of futuristic rock leaving Syd Barrett to move away from the group in 1968,” says digitaljournal.com, adding:
“They weren’t everyone’s cup of tea when they first emerged. In the midst of the psychedelic sixties, a band emerged from the haze of the darkest London suburbs called The Abdabs. In 1965, three ordinary guys named Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright were the basis of this new band and it was only when they requested the poetic genius of Syd Barrett that they thought that the name Pink Floyd had more going for it. At least it meant some would take their music seriously …
He was a self-taught pianist and keyboardist best known for his long career with Pink Floyd, says the Wikipedia.
“”Though not as prolific a songwriter as his bandmates Syd Barrett, Roger Waters and David Gilmour, he did write significant parts of the music for classic albums such as Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here, as well as for Pink Floyd’s final studio album The Division Bell,” it says.

“Long you live
And high you fly;
The smiles you’ll give
And tears you’ll cry…”
["Time" - Pink Floyd, 1974 - in case anyone doesn't already know]
Thanks, Rich!
You’ll be greatly missed.

Richard Wright was one hell of a keyboard player……………..
May god bless him………..
MAY HE GO TO THE BIG GIG IN THE SKY.
Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there’s a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the cross fire of childhood and stardom,
Blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger,
You legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Treatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
Rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter,
You piper, you prisoner, and shine!
Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Pile on many more layers and i’ll be joining you there.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
And we’ll bask in the shadow of yesterday’s triumph,
And sail on the steel breeze.
Come on you boy child, you winner and loser,
Come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine!
SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND !!!!

So.so you think you can tell.heaven from hell, blue skies from pain, can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail,a smile from a veil,do you think you can tell. And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts hot ashes for trees, hot air for a cool breeze, cold comfort for change and did you exchange a walk on part in the war,for a lead role in a cage. How we wish how we wish you was here,we are just all lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year, running over the same old ground, what have we found the same old fears,Wish you were here.Best wishes to richard wrights family&pink floyd.you shall allways be part of our lifes&hope your jamming with jimi hendrix, bob marly&more In the big gig in the sky&shine on.best to all who loved him&loved his work. From terry&wendy
