p2pnet news view | Crime:- Five east Toronto schools are today locked down after a a 17-year-old high school student was found shot in the chest, says the Canwest News Service, going on:

“Emergency crews were called to the Bendale Business and Technical School on Midland and Lawrence Avenues around 11:50 a.m. to find a boy in the school’s main floor hallway, bleeding from the upper left chest.

“The boy, whose identity has not been released, has been taken to Sunnybrook Medical Sciences Centre in critical condition, Toronto EMS duty officer Connie Christie said.”

According to the Toronto Star, police chief Bill Blair said there was an “altercation” involving at least four young men, and a gun went off.

“Blair said the shooting took place outside the school and that only one person was shot,” says story. “Blair said the other young men fled the scene.”

Initial suspect descriptions suggest two males are being sought, says Sun Media, adding:

“The first suspect is a black male, 15 to 18 years old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10, with a skinny build, black sweater, black baseball cap he was wearing backwards, and clean shaven. He was believed to be carrying a handgun.

“The second suspect is a male, possibly mulato, 15 to 18 years old, 6-feet, wearing a grey sweater, with a thing moustache and beard line. Initial reports suggest the two suspects are not students from the area.”
