The Chinese have been copying and counterfeiting things for thousands of years and this is just the latest trend due to China's booming economy and sudden creation of a middle class. There is very little actual innovation in China, because it is considered an honor for something to be faithfully duplicated. The Chinese do NOT care about copyrights, and any claims to the opposite are without merit and mostly because of western pressures and the desire to appear as if they are actually addressing the issue. In their eyes copyrights do not exist at all; that is how it is in a communist country.
