Sarah Palin Yahoo account hacked
p2pnet news view | Politics:- John McCain running mate Sarah Palin is a Purple Person and her Yahoo account, “was apparently plundered late Tuesday evening and the contents of the account — personal emails, email addresses of her parents, children and friends, private family photos, and phone numbers — were published all over the Internet Wednesday,” says The Guardian.
“This is a shocking invasion of the governor’s privacy and a violation of law,” McCain’s campaign manager is quoted as saying.
“The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities, and we hope that anyone in possession of these e-mails will destroy them.”
The “appropriate authorities” are the FBI and the Secret Service, says the story.
There was nothing overtly embarrassing in the messages themselves, “but the security breach came at a time when Ms Palin’s use of personal e-mail is under intense scrutiny,” notes Times Online, adding:
“Screen grabs of the e-mail inbox posted on the web today appear to confirm accusations that Ms Palin had been using non-governmental accounts to engage in political and executive work.
“A Republican activist in Alaska is trying to force her to release more than 1,100 Yahoo e-mails she withheld from a public records request in June.”
Not only but also, Palin herself is no stranger to hacking having herself been accused of illicitly penetrating someone’s computer without authorisation.
She was, “hacking uncomfortably into Randy Ruedrich’s computer, looking for evidence that the state Republican Party boss had broken the state ethics law while a member of the Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission,” reportedthe Anchorage Daily News almost exactly four years ago.

why is it that the us government doesn’t have a policy on using Hotmail, Yahoo and other online email sites?
my office has a policy that no emails can be sent to or from these email providers to protect privacy and confidentiality.

Unfortunately, the truth is that they do have laws against this for both U.S. and for the State of Alaska. I touch on the issue on my blog, specifically this post: http://www.liamjewell.com/wordpress/?p=139

This political and corporate pigs are breaking the law in violation of the US constitution by spying on us without due process and justified cause our warant, well it is fair them that someone spy on them in retaliation.
If they want to play hard ball with this is what they got.
They stop spying on us, we will stop spying on them. Period.
Since they have thinks to hide and we don’t they are certain to lose at this game evry time.

Throughout the entire primaries and the general election, the Obama campaign has played dirty politics. In addition to the never ending vitriol of the Obama bloggers on the internet, nearly every time I have posted a supportive blog for Hillary Clinton … and, then for McCain/Palin … my computer’s mailbox has been inundated with hundreds of pieces of email spam. Another example of under handed behavior by Obama’s henchmen, is that they have been organized to approach retirement homes, as volunteer community speakers … only to visit multiple times spewing lop sided pro-Obama, and negative McCain propaganda to elderly people, to get their votes in November. And, now we can see unprincipled politicians and bias media hacks using the race card … telling people ” if you don’t vote for Obama, you must be a racist”. Usually, when Americans uncover such despicable tactics, they can count on the mainstream media to expose it to the public … however, in this case, most of the mainstream media is in the tank for Obama … so, they either look the other way, or they make phony biased excuses to mischaracterize, and cover up what’s really happening.

There Gina, fixed that for ya…
Also, “…I have posted a supportive blog for Hillary Clinton … and, then for McCain/Palin …”

I’ve been following the story since the beginning. Originally it was reported that Anonymous (the group responsible for harrassing Scientology recently) had discovered and hacked into Palin’s hidden email account.
http://gawker.com/5051193/sarah-palins-personal-email-account-hacked
Then the reports said “a user on the Web site WikiLeaks” was responsible:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/17/mccain-camp-seeks-investigation-over-reported-e-mail-hack/
By the time it got onto TV this morning, people were saying it was “hackers”.
How long before the label is changed to “terrorists”?

The fact that Sarah Palin was using a Yahoo! account is almost neglectable in light of the fact that Anonymous members were illegally cracking the email account and deliberately spread private and government information on the internet, on top of all endangering the safety of Palin’s family. No “public interest” exists for this, and their doing was just plain illegal. Anonymous is known for illegal and harassing actions for a long time.

A guess is that as a result of a a simple no brainer (sarahpalin?), easy to guess password was used.
Palin, being in politics, should have consulted with her Internet savy politician colleagues, the creator of the Blackberry, McCain or the creator of the internet, Gore.

The attack on Governor Palin’s privacy is inexcusable. In a hastily worded statement the Associated Press informed the Secret Service, “No way dude, are we givin’ up them emails. Ask anybody; she got hacked fair & square. Like get your own story man, this one’s ours.” Sometimes it’s hard to know who your friends are in the digital age.

Mr. Cell phone is not your friend: whenever one’s cell phone is switched on, just turned on, even if it’s not a GPS enabled device, it emits a signal that anyone who obtains your SIM card number may track with an array of inexpensive software. GOOGLE GPS tracking devices. The phone’s speaker can also be remotely activated for use as a listening device. It’s often easier and cheaper to attach a GPS device to a vehicle, in which case Mr. Automobile is no longer your friend. Cell phones, GPS devices, and Email all lend the good, the bad & the ugly a level of unprecedented sophistication. Suggest: remove cell phone battery when not in use: http://theseedsof9-11.com
