So lets see, the hard hit to online money makers is going to cause this to go down the drain quickly especially online movie rentals X-box live downloads and online gaming. I cant wait to see Microsoft, the internet porn industry, netflix, blizzard and not to mention many others all shove their feet up Time Warner and every other internet service providers proverbial ass for trying to stick their hands in their honey pot..

Time Warner owns Road Runner, AOL, and a whole bunch of other ISPs. Comcast may be the largest single ISP in the US, but TW is the second largest. What does that say to you about the ISP industry as a whole?

Start metering bandwidth in the name of corporate greed, Time Warner,
and I can guarantee you that your customers will cancel their service in
record numbers and sign up for those of your competitors.

In my area, we dumped Time Warner in favor of AT&T U-Verse. This was
after TW began traffic shaping of Usenet and torrents, and at the same time
our connection began going to crap.

Six years ago, eh? Reminds me of the common belief from the 1930s to the 1970s that "comic books won't be around in five years" which was the comic book industry's excuse to treat the artists and writers like scum. I can think of other media industries that do that...

In response to RW in comment 4:

Like all other aspects of corporations and government in the US, they will tell the same lie over and over again until it becomes 'the truth'.

We don't talk about anthrax attacks or WMDs much anymore, do we?

The problem with Comcast is that although the burst speed is high the overal speed is very inconsistant and there is a lot of packe t lost soemtime as mush as 30%. So when they claim that it is faster than DSl they are lying. Also I found that DSL service stream video better than Comcast because the trasffic is much more consistant in term of speed and the latancy is short.

Evryone that I know are using DSl are happy with it and it is not true that comcast cable offer a better service.

This is not true at all. By the way right now Comcast connection is pretty slugish. Not faster than dia-lup!

This guy is living in his own delusional cable world. My Verizon FIOS service for the last year has been leaps and bounds better than the Comcast cable service. Symmetrical bandwidth, no throttling, no DMCA bullshit, and HD channels that are actually delivered in HD bitrates.

Verizon also added 30 new HD channels to my area on 9/17. Cable only holds an upper-hand in areas with no choice.
