p2pnet news view | Crime:- Similarities between two apparently separate tragedies in Finland when some 20 students were murdered during shooting rampages, one last year, and one the day before yesterday, have already been noted.
In both cases, the YouTube video site was used by the killers, students themselves, to pass their messages of disillusion and discontent to the world.
p2pnet’s post yesterday carried the pic of Pekka-Eric Auvinen, (left) and Matti Saari, the two gunmen, brandishing identical weapons and filmed in almost identical poses.
“You will die next,” promised Matti Saari, 22, who murdered 10 fellow catering students in western Finland.
“After making the chilling statement in a video which turned up on YouTube, he fires four shots almost directly at whoever is holding the camera,” our story says, continuing:
“It’s an almost a carbon copy of the murders which took place close to a year ago when another Finnish student, Pekka-Eric Auvinen, murdered eight people, and then killed himself.”
Now, “Their actions seem so similar that I would consider it a miracle if we did not find some connecting link,” the BBC has chief investigator Jari Neulaniemi was quoted as saying by Finland’s STT news agency on Wednesday.
“Mr Neulaniemi also said the two shooters’ gun licences indicated that the weapons had been bought at the same store in Jokela.”
Police found two handwritten suicide notes at Saari’s flat, says The Age.
One said, “I hate the human race, I hate mankind, I hate the whole world and I want to kill as many people as possible,” according to the story.
“This is my war,” said Auvinen last year shortly before starting his murder spree, “one man war against humanity, governments and weak-minded masses of the world! No mercy for the scum of the earth!
“HUMANITY IS OVERRATED! It’s time to put NATURAL SELECTION & SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST back on tracks!”
