Canada 2008 elections: useful links

p2pnet news view | P2P | Politics:- Steve Clift runs Democracies Online — DoWire — a, “primary source for what’s important and happening with the convergence of democracy and the Internet around the world”.

Launched in January 1998, “DoWire connects over 2750 experts, practitioners, journalists, and citizens across 80 countries,” he says.

So it’s no surprise to find a list of urls for people paying attention to the upcoming 2008 Canadian elections on DoWire.

There are, after all, no borders in Cyberspace and what interests someone somewhere will interest someone else somewhere else.

In a p2pnet post, “The Net makes the difference,” I said, going on »»»

Online People2People Power is where it’s at.

At the end of the last century, Chaos Theory was all the rage, epitomised by the Butterfly Effect, a, “phrase that encapsulates the more technical notion of sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory,” explains the Wikipedia in a post accompanied by the illustration on the right.

“Small variations of the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system,” it says. “So this is sometimes presented as esoteric behavior, but can be exhibited by very simple systems: for example, a ball placed at the crest of a hill might roll into any of several valleys depending on slight differences in initial position.”

Another way of putting it might be: when a butterfly flaps its wings on one side of the world, the accumulating repercussions might be dramatically felt on the other side.

What does that have to do with P2P?  For butterflies, read you and I and thanks to the Net, we’re now flapping our wings in unison, a reality that’s having a marked effect on the Powers that Used To Be, politics, and just about everything else.

Clift has already organised a similar list for the recent UK elections.

If you know of a site you think should be here, please let us know.

Cheers! And thanks, Steve. Excellent job.

Nice list, very nice list. Put a lot of work into it. I’d keep only links to preserve internet and anything that’s helps humanity.

Now let’s get to solving the real problems here in Canada and the whole world as well.

Government is here to protect the people and interests of people, not filthy rich abusive bankers and their Monetary Fund!
Must watch - Zeitgeist: Addendum – how we are totally controlled by bankers who only care about enslaving everyone on Earth and how to fix it. It explains how to survive it as well.

We are Canadians, WE CAN DO THIS!

“The question is not how much will it cost but do we have the resources?” The answer is definitely YES.
We have the resources to create the best life for everyone. Every single human being on earth and preserve the earth in it’s fullest.

Now this is the real solution

    Enjoy :D
