School won’t drop Apple-like apple logo
p2pnet news view | Advertising:- The votes are steadily rising against.
But it’s another Steve in the hot seat rather than Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper, in the last stretch of his bid to convince Canadians he should be allowed to continue ruining (sorry, running) the country.
Instead, Steve Jobs and his Apple Computer Inc are being accused of trying to bully a small Canadian business school into dropping its logo because, says Apple, it looks much too much like an Apple apple.
Under attack is the Victoria School of Business and Technology located in Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
When we first posted on this the day before yesterday, some 898 people thought Apple was in the right while 2,555 believed the opposite, at 3:30 AM Pacific yesterday, the voting was 3,037 for and 1,076 against.
At 3:50 AM today it was 4,583 for and 1,647 against.
Win or lose, the controversy equals something of a windfall for the school. It’s reaping priceless publicity for free and although there’s a definite similarity between the VSBT apple and the Apple apple, is that enough to justify the Jobs company’s efforts to force the commercial school to drop it?
But, “Apple might learn to play nice,” says a post on this site, adding, “not that we are naive, but hey, they may surprise us
”
Stay tuned.

I would vote in favor of Apple if the schools had a bits taken out of the apple but since it doesnt then there should be no complaint.
