You have a nude picture (sorry, call) waiting
p2pnet news view | Mobiles:- A 15-year-old American schoolgirl might be labelled a sex offender after using her cellphone to distribute nude photographs.
Of herself.
To her classmates.
“The Licking Valley High School student, whose name was not released, faces felony charges in Licking County Juvenile Court of possessing criminal tools and the illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material, says 10TV, going on:
“The alleged incident occurred after the Licking County prosecutor visited high schools, including Licking Valley, and warned students about what could happen if they are found with or send pornographic images of minors on their cell phones.
“After the prosecutor came and talked to us, we were all pretty surprised it happened,” the story has Licking Valley junior Abbie Guinsler saying
She’s the first minor to be charged after Licking County assistant prosecutor Erin Welch toured schools, says The Canadian, adding:
“She pleaded deny to both charges: illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, a second-degree felony; and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.
“If found delinquent, the juvenile court’s equivalent of a conviction, the girl could be labelled a Tier II sexual offender and be required to register for 20 years, Welch said.”
‘Parents are aghast’
But the Licking County girl isn’t alone, and she’s not the first.
During the summer, “Nowadays, teenagers are snapping naked pictures of themselves on their cell phones and sending them to their boyfriends and girlfriends,” said the Associated Press, continuing:
“Many of these pictures are falling into the wrong hands — or worse, everyone’s hands, via the Internet — and leading to criminal charges.
“Some parents are aghast.”
School administrators in Santa Fe, Texas, “confiscated dozens of cell phones from students in May after nude photos of two junior high girls began circulating,” says the story, adding:
“The girls had sent the photos to their boyfriends, who forwarded them to others, officials said.
“In La Crosse, Wis., a 17-year-old boy recently was charged with child pornography, sexual exploitation of a child and defamation for allegedly posting nude photos of his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend on his MySpace page. The girl had taken the pictures with her cell phone at her mother’s home and e-mailed them to the boyfriend, authorities said.”
And, “It used to be that kids would make mistakes, and it was local and singular and everyone knew it was part of growing up,” said Catherine Davis, who, “had a frank talk with her two sons after several students’ nude self-portraits recently spread through the wealthy New York City-area suburb of Westport, Connecticut.
She’s quoted not in a US paper, but by China Daily, which also has the pic on the right with the caption:
“Connecticut State Police Sgt. Jim Smith of the state police cybercrimes unit poses with a cell phone in Windsor Locks, Conn., May 22, 2008. Smith conducts seminars in which he warns parents about the use of cell phones to send nude pictures.”

The state IS the parent. And the entertainment cartels, of course. Ask George W.
Cheers!

“Licking Valley High School”? That is hysterical! It sounds like it came right out of a low brow high school comedy farce movie… Combined with the story it is the kind of stuff a person couldn’t even make up. Priceless.

In America, this is called democracy.

This would be really funny, if it wasn’t sad.
Had no idea minors could be convicted for having nude photo’s of people their own age. I’m sure we all still remember the Vanessa Hudgens (However her names spelled.) incident.
This sounds like a messed up movie satire. It Made much more sense once I saw Texas mentioned.

In most of Europe it would be no big deal and the results of that lack of concern may be surprising. When people don’t get uptight over the human body and nudity they are much more likely to talk about it with young people. The results are predictable. In Denmark or the Netherlands young people don’t on average become sexually active until about a year older than in the USA and when they do they are much more likely to use a condom and contraception and less likely to be promiscuous. The results are predictable. About one tenth the number of pregnancies, one tenth the number of abortions and over seventy times fewer cases of gonorrhea. Countries such as the UK which are in between in attitudes have outcomes that are also in between. Prudery is a form a child abuse and these laws encourage that child abuse. Are the police and prosecutors prepared to stand in front of 10 pregnant teenagers and explain to them why it is that if they were in Denmark or The Netherlands nine of them would not be pregnant? Or 10 in the waiting room of an abortion clinic? Or 70 at a STD clinic?

They claim that they need to crack down on child porn to protect the “children”, and here they are, ready to ruin the lives of a bunch of kids who took pictures of THEMSELVES!
This country really is getting to the point where it’s too screwed up to function…

I agree in general with the tone of the above postings but as a female (and not necessarily a feminist) the thing that struck me was that none of the cases reported on nude pictures of males circulated by their girlfriends. Is it that females have a greater respect for what is presumably intended as a private communication between two individuals?
And what did the girls do when their partners sent their nude pics out into the blue yonder?
