p2pnet news view Politics | Movies:- “This is going be interesting,” p2pnet posted in January.
“Oliver Stone hopes to cast Josh Brolin as George W. Bush in a biopic (farce?
) of soon to be ex-president George W. Bush.”
Stone was successful and now, “A powerful set of people skills and a gift for gab are about the only things Brolin has in common with George W. Bush, whom he plays in Oliver Stone’s W,” says USA Today.
The George W. flick opens Friday and, “Ask Brolin about embodying the president, and he seems a little stupefied it even happened,”says the story.
“I just saw him on the news, before I came here, and he’s talking about the economy and $700 billion, and he’s (messing) up the words,” it has Brolin saying.
“And I was like, ‘Man, I can’t believe I played this guy.’ That’s the zeitgeist.”
But, “when (Stone) came to me about Bush, I couldn’t understand it. I couldn’t make any connection whatsoever,’” he’’s quoted as saying.
“I was a little insulted.”
Coming up?
“In November, he tackles another dicey character in Gus Van Sant’s Milk, the tale of San Francisco’s first openly gay elected official,” says USA Today, adding:
“Brolin’s Dan White murders Sean Penn’s Harvey Milk

Josh Brolin did a convincing Dubya, though he reminded me a lot of his cowboy character from No Country for Old Men… over all, i don’t doubt that ‘W.’ will have the effect Oliver Stone desired
