I’ve seen it and I’m convinced everybody who’s slagging it off either hasn’t seen the movie at all or has a vested interest in criminals running the US.

I also found quite a few with long – obviously TOO long – Lion Gate intros, plus a lot that were obvious fakes (even to me : )

the author should have actually downloaded a copy of the movie to verify that it was really Fahrenheit 911 before posting this article. it’s called basic journalist investigation. didn’t they know that fake files with the same name as a desired file are common? just doing a search and seeing the name of the movie doesnt mean it’s available on p2p… duh

I dont think the movie is really out there.

Probably the author who wrote this article just noticed that the title of the movie yielded a lot of hits with limewire or whatever, and presumed it was out there.

Also, I didnt think Fahrenheit 451 was that great a novel, nor is Ray Bradbury such a great novelist.

After 9-11, we did not care very much “how” terrorists were treated, so long as they could no longer harm us. Even rumors of handing suspects over to 3rd world allies for “extreme interrigation tactics” (aka torture as we would see it), was not frowned upon by most Americans.

Now looking back, this may be getting us in trouble.

1. We (U.S.) must have the moral high ground

It is imperative we be “better” in all ways than our enemy. Even alluding to torture is ABSOLUTELY DETRIMENTAL!

2. Allowing allies to extract information through torture has led us to a laxed feeling towards it.

The Pentagon has since the beginning of the War on Terror, authorized non-lethal but highly questionable methods for interrigation of militants. Water tables, prank fear of death (i.e. almost college like “take a step forward” stuff), different isolation methods, cultural taboos, pyschological anguish and near torture methods, etc… the list goes on.

In summary,

We are trying to portray ourselves with an image of moral and justified superiority/being-in-the-right, yet among arab nations and Europe (which has almost entirely denounced torture in any form), it makes us VERY VERY VERY close to what Saddam himself did!

Even though it is not entirely, it’s too close. The DOD and upper executive branch is guilty of letting CIA/NSA/SF operators use BAD INTERRIGATION TACTICS, ones that send a psychological message to combatants, but ruin our reuptation and can justifiably be interpreted as torture.

Admittedly on a point to point basis, we are not actually torturing in the previously thought sense. No killing, no electricution (but fear of!), beating, drowning (but water tables!), no starvation (AFAIK), no forced labor (AFAIK).

Yet to achieve our end result of at least one more nation that remotely likes us in the Mid East, this crap has got to go.

There are already a ton of “facts” in F911 which are obvious lies – the biggest so far is the notion that Bush 43 somehow helped members of the Bin Laden family (ones who disowned Osama Bin Laden) leave the country after 9/11. Richard Clarke has long admitted that he was solely responsible for this action.

As others have said, Michael Moore is Leni Riefenstahl without the aesthetics.

Artists that are in it for the money or a lifestyle, and created by the music industry, and will not survive. I personally want that to happen. Britney Spears and all her derivatives, the multitude of R&B artists who all sound the same who write songs to a cookie cutter recipe don’t deserve to be where they are.

We had grunge in the early 90’s, now we have to still listen to Nickelback, sounding like a 3rd rate rip off of pearl jam. The music industry finds the latest trend, repackages and resells it to us for as long as they can. This is not art. This is music run by corporations with accountants at the helm making all the decisions. It used to be that record labels were run by music lovers. Music is more about image today than it is about the music. I guess that video really did kill the radio star.

P2P helps to restore that by bringing new and old music to the public that the record industry is not interested in distributing or letting the public hear.

Let’s put an end to the contol that the music industry has on our music and the musicians’ music.
