"Is it a sin for them to want to act sexy?"

I think one of the points Long makes, and as the father of an almost-eight-year-old daughter I agree with, is: these girls are potential role models for much younger kids who'll try to imitate what they do and the way they behave.

Shudder

Is it possible that the obscenity is in the eye of the reviewer? You do say that it will come across to most audiences as "a cute and funny teenie-bopper film." Perhaps that's what it is.

Sure, there are the scenes you mention. But did you ever consider that Mary-Kate and Ashley (who helped produce the film themselves) were trying to appeal to boys their age and just a bit older? They are 18 now, not ten. Is it a sin for them to want to act sexy?

And there is no point in the film where they show even as much flesh as a bathing suit would show. You can see more at the average high school. Let the poor girls grow up, why don't you? Is it necessary to imprison them in the roles they played at 12? If it were Cameron Diaz in the shower scene with the snake, who would complain? It would just be funny.

If you just watch it as an absurd comedy -- a live-action cartoon -- this is a very funny movie. The costume changes are part of the absurdity. And Mary-Kate and Ashley are comedians of the first order.
