Ray Beckerman as new Copyright Czar?
p2pnet news view | RIAA News:- Under what’s being called the Prioritizing Resources and Organization for Intellectual Property (PRO IP) Act, the corporate copyright cartel’s have weaselled their very own representative into the White House, with US taxpayers footing the bill.
But maybe they’ll make sense of it after all.
Maybe it won’t be one of them ………
Slashdot ran a poll on who should be US copyright czar, says Ray Beckerman, on his Recording Industry vs The People and, “Incredibly, I’m running neck and neck with Prof. Lawrence Lessig,” he says, going on:
“However, we are both being beaten hands down by ‘CowboyNeal’, a well liked Slashdot editor.
“Cary Sherman is trailing badly.”
Slashdotters wil recognise Beckerman as frequent poster NewYorkCountryLawyer.
Michael Geist is named too.
He’d be a good choice, too, but sadly, he’d be disqualified because he’s Canadian.
Ray’ll win hands down, though.

Maybe they’ll appoint someone from a spyware company, like they already have for a Homeland Security board
