Snuff-film maker charged with murder
p2pnet news view Crime | Movies:- Movie-maker Mark Twitchell (right) appears in an Edmonton, Alberta, court today charged with first-degree murder in the creation of a snuff film.
It was, “about luring a fellow from the internet, duct-taping him to a chair, killing him and cutting him,” said police detective Mark Anstey, quoted by the CBC.
Anstey is investigating the slaying of energy industry worker John Brian Altinger, 38.
“It was actually filmed and there are actors; we interviewed the actors,” he said, “We’ve interviewed everybody and that film actually did take place.”
Now police are looking for another man who may have escaped the same fate.
“Police allege it’s a scenario that resembles the filmmaker’s latest project in which a man is abducted, tortured and then hacked to bits,” says the Canadian Press, adding:
“They say there are eerie similarities to the popular television show “Dexter,” which often portrays victims being abducted, killed and then dismembered.
“Twitchell posted a Facebook request in August for actors to work for free on a thriller short that was set to shoot at the end of September.”

Not to mention the fact that Twitchell is the spitting image of Michael C. Hall. Yikes!

Why would they even bother to go to the trouble? There are already plenty of filmed executions (both’ legal’ and otherwise) spread out across the internet, if authenticity is what they want.
It seems the CIA’s and military’s snuff films (”enhanced interrogation” gone wrong) were supposedly all destroyed per Presidential order, but we’ll see if these ever manage to pop up on the internet. Or for sale.
Yesterday the Discovery channel had a “how-to” show about torture and execution methodology. With all the media saturation, it’s no wonder that western culture has been slowly reverting back to the more barbarian era of several centuries ago.
