I'd like to see a law that bans queers from "cruising" the public toilets, parks and universities especially. It's sexual harassment at its worst.

It wasn't until I was about 14 or 15 that I realized that all these guys who had been very friendly, talkative, and touchy in park restrooms were queers looking for a sodomy partner. At least in college they were easy to spot, the only middle-aged men hanging out in the student center (and apparently all with very small bladders/bowels).

"Those who have one view of the issue had more votes than those with another view of the issue."
Not by much - like it was 52% or very close. If they vote often, they would be bound to get a ban vote eventually when the wind blows that way that day.'Maybe there No skin off any straight people's noses to vote for a ban now, is there.

The world population is 11% gay. Someone in your family is likely gay and still in the closet. How do you suppose they feel? Is it your brother? Your sister? They can thank the likes of the just over 50% of the American voters for their dilemma. How would you feel? Is life not hard enough? Get a life and leave the gays alone. They aren't hurting anybody - they are way more cool than homophobes.

Everytime and wherever these gay marriage referendums are put to a vote, they are soundly defeated. Americans do not want gay marriage. You just don't get it.

@ Let Love Rule >> I’m a recovering alcoholic and drug addict (21 years and counting) and I owe a good part of my recovery to my Narcotics Anonymous sponsor, Brian, who’s gay.

Thanks, Brian, for then and for now.

I’ve known, and know, plenty of gay men and women and many of them are far more open minded and generous than so-called ’straights’.

As far as I can see, gay people are the same as everyone else. They have the same aspirations, the same hopes and dreams, and the same need to be able to share their lives with someone they love.

And to Dude from Finland, good one. :)

Cheers!

Lenny Kravitz said it best.

I have no time or sympathy for those who hate, or especially those who spread the message and politics of hate using the Bible and religion as their basis. It's amazing how people twist and interpret the messages of the Bible to match their own viewpoints. If I wanted to claim that pigs can fly, I could probably find some statement in the Bible that I could say backs this statement up. Many major religions ignore the basic teachings of Jesus, in favor of their own desires. Jesus never taught hate.

Who cares if gays want to marry, it doesn't change my relationship with my wife.
Who cares if gays want to adopt children, as long as those children are loved.
Who cares? Do you? Feeling superior, are we?
"Well isn't that special?"

It is still a society with morals. If the majority of the people voted for something they believe is immoral then so be it. It doesnt matter if they are christians, muslims, or jewish. Some people can have morals and not be a part of any religion. Just because you are gay and think you have the right to marry, doent make it so. What is next? Are poligimist gonna say they should have the right to marry multiple wives. What if someone wants to marry their dog? How about the teenager that thinks they have the right and they are just being discriminated against becuase of their age. The vast magority of the people would never allow those to happen but what about the future?

Equility is for everyone but not if it should interfer with the majority. You dont get to do something just cause you think you should be able to.

People still have the view that marriage is a union under god. And seeing that almost every religion considers homosexuality immoral and wrong in the eyes of god then how can people accept gay marriage. What if a church or minister doesnt want to marry a gay couple would they then be sued for discrimination?

And knocking ones religion is also discrimination. We all have the right to believe in something or nothing. If people want to believe in a god or gods, or a book that may be true or not then they should be. As far fetched as some ideas are they may be true. No one knows.

I have no personal views leading one way or another. Eventually people may be more accepting to gays but it just not be the time yet.

I have a novel idea. Ban marriages. The idea that there is only one authority on this matter is obsolete. Let's all just register the relationship we want and not make a fuss about it. Hell it's all a big party anyway. Formalities that follow more formalities. Have all the formailities you want and then throw a big party. Besides when did it become legal to pass bills that discriminate? Oh and Christians... get off your high moral horse. You know the one that stands on the crusades and witch burnings. Who died and made you kings? And the Bible... a book which contents were decided at a conference in Nikea ages ago. Yup men and women came together and decided what was to go in the book. Words from the lord indeed. Oh and all the writings of the women were handily left out.

If homosexual marriage becomes law, then this would, by extension, prevent adoption agencies from discriminating against them. The "two mommies" kids could become the norm.

At least child custody would be a simple matter, since only one of them can be the biological parent.

I'm curious about how the act of "consummating one's marriage" is legally defined when referring to a "marriage" between two females.

Are they both still "virgins" after they "divorce"?

Although the Bible might condemn "men lying with men" it says nothing about women same-sexing.

I am in opposition of any kind of homophobic legislation in any part of north america. I would hope most people are passed this religous belief that their 'world was not made the same way for homosexuals as it is for same-sex couples'. I am not gay and I have no gay family members, I am not religous, but I believe people should be allowed to live their lives in ways that make them happy and do not affect society at large. If you want to believe whatever you interpret YOUR bible as saying (whichever religion) than thats fine; but not everybody believes what you and your "group" believe.

I feel that if anybody wants to raise a family through a gay marriage or continue living their life happily married thats good for them they found someone they can be happy with, I dont think we should EVER stop someone from being happy simply by being legally married.

The Bible is a bunch of superstitious stories written by... wait for it...OTHER MEN! 5000 years of nearly cave dwellers who didn't have a clue about the world they lived in so they made up a bunch of stories to explain for it all. Many I'm sure were based on actual events, but stories nonetheless. As a result of those stories written to promote a peaceful existence between fellow men, there have been thousands of years of war and suffering because one person's Bible stories are the truth, and another person's Bible stories, although the same stories about the same god, are a bunch of lies supposedly propagated by another fictional character called the devil. It's a bunch of bullshit. Get your head out of the dark ages.

Christians are the worse of the lot. If Jesus were real and alive today, he would be ashamed of the comment made by the supposed Christian above. For the sake of argument, lets say it's all true, and Jesus really is the son of God,his main message was a message of tolerance and understanding-- something that is obviously missing from many Christians (including the one who wrote the above comment) moral compass.

Ther's nothing worng with having spiritual beliefs, but keep them to yourself, don't push your shit on me and tell me how to live my life based on your cave-dwelling (oh wait, according to the Bible there were no cave dwellers) superstitious crap.

Any real Christian that has read and has faith in the words in the gift from God called the Bible understands its a sin to have homosexual relations - bottom line - marriage is a commitment before God to the relationship and since God has already expressed in the Bible that he does not approve of homosexual relations there should be no question in any Christians mind - Marriage is for a man and a woman, exclusively.

When I was kid, I wanted very badly to go into the lower level of the local bowling alley, where the pool tables were. I was not allowed.
It was because I was female.
Today, the concept of women being banned from pool halls is ridiculous.

The day that Canada legally accepted gay marriage made me proud to be Canadian, even though I am not gay.
