George W. Bush indicted for high treason
p2pnet news view P2P | Politics:- George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States, was indicted Monday on charges of high treason, says The New York Times, quoting an Associated Press wire story.
The charges, “allege that Mr. Bush, knowing full well that Iraq possessed no weapons of mass destruction, falsified information in order to pursue the disastrous Iraq War,” says the story, going on »»»
Federal District Judge Michael Ratner denied Mr. Bush’s request to represent himself. Ratner is the former president of the Center for Constitutional Rights.
High treason is usually defined as participation in a war against one’s own country; attempting to overthrow its government; spying on its military, its diplomats, or its secret services for a hostile and foreign power; or attempting to kill its head of state.
“In this case, high treason has been interpreted to include pursuing an illegal and devastating war that has cost hundreds of billions of dollars and the lives of over 4,000 Americans and perhaps a million Iraqis, for essentially insane ends,” said Vincent Bugliosi, a former federal prosecutor whom Feingold named lead special prosecutor in the case.
“In effect, the Iraq War amounted to a war against America,” added Bugliosi, who is also the author of the book, The Prosecution of George Bush for Murder.
In a press conference held close to midnight yesterday at his Crawford, Texas ranch, former President Bush cited his renewed Christian faith as the catalyst for this unprecedented action, says the story, adding:
“Last month, I had a conversation with Jesus Christ. A new conversation.
“And I’ve been very blessed to have been born again, again. This time, for real,” Mr. Bush read in a prepared statement half a dozen stunned reporters.
“It’s taken a lot of soul searching, or more like deep-soul diving, I think is the term. But now I see that it was wrong to lead our nation to war under false pretenses. Millions have suffered for my sins, and I see now that it is only fitting that I should suffer as well.”
Iraq War Ends
The last paragraph gives it away.
It’s an incredible New York Times spoof which was six months in the making.
It’s also a terrible indictment of the way things are not only in America, but also in every other developed country.
When it’s a mockery to say CEO salaries are to be capped, lobbyists banned from the seat of power, that the ‘America’s Army’ video game recruiting tool is cancelled, the Patriot Act repealed, that the public relations industry “Forecasts a Series of Massive Layoffs,” and so on, something is drastically wrong somewhere.
The reality, of course, is that a handful of giant corporations headed by a handful of unprincipled Captains of Commerce whose only allegiance is to their shareholders, rule the world, aided by lying politicians in thrall to Big Business.
Anyone who dares to suggest leaving our fates and our futures in the hands of these greedy criminals might not be a good idea is accused of being a dangerous, raving lefty who’s against everything that’s good in the world.
“You made my day!” – posts Karan today in a comment special on the New York Times spoof.
“Yesterday, a legislation was passed here in Germany which shall enable the police to spy on computers, tap conversations, localize mobile phones etc. It seems we’re getting closer and closer to our very own version of the U.S. Patriot Act.”
“Good news is just what I needed this morning, and they are a pleasure to read, even though they’re not real.
“Well, it is up to all of us to make them happen. As many as possible.”

Read it all.
And then wonder if this amazing satire, which almost equals the War of the Worlds radio spoof launched by Orson Wells, could not be made to come true.
After all, America now has a black president and his rise to power was largely made possible by online Americans.
Think about it.

But really! Isn’t it a shame, that it’s just satire. If anyone deserves indictment, it’s that lunatic!

That should have been what the headlines read, both of them. Mr. I wanna be a war president went out and got a bunch of civilians and military killed in two wars, while he was busy pushing money like there was no end to it. Well, I guess technically he’s right on the money part, or at least as long as the printing presses have the materials and the government continues to pay the power bill.
As it is, he will skate out of office without impeachment but there are no time limits on the crime of murder. I do hope Obama holds the course of reversing a lot of those bills and directives that were pushed through in the last minute, just like he did when he got in office behind Clinton. The signing statements should have been ruled unconstitutional.
He will still deal with some of the mess after he is out of office, such as the stonewalling about the cabinet and presidential emails and their retrieval. But it is a shame Cheney got out of France too quickly. I would have loved to see him pay for the music he’s played over the course of his term.
Undoing the damage that this administration has done to the laws of the land and the constitution will take several presidents attention, I am afraid. This is one that should have never had the chance to be president once, much less twice.
While he could not make the bills as only those approved by the legislature come to him, the rest of the scallywags should be thrown out of office as well. Insiders should be a dirty name for the voters for the next two elections to clean house.

Such lofty thinking only if it were true.

yes it would be great if we the little people had the guts and the will to stand up to our slave masters, but sadly we do not. We are happy just to be allowed to live our lives, be entertained, hate our neighbors, think of ourselves as so much better than all others. We are happy to be allowed to tried to have bigger, better and more expense stuff than others and as long as they do not bother me they can do what ever they wish to my neighbor. None of my kin died on 9-11 and none of my kin are fighting in either war so I am happy, because I do not care about you are your kin. I have all my good and expense stuff and I am entertained so all is well with the world. This is the little peoples mind set and it can not be changed.
