None is this any surprise to me.

I posted way back, when the CRTC first denied the interim "ceast and desist" request from CAIP, that the denial was a definitive statement in itself of what to expect. The only vulnerable side in the argument was CAIP. There wasn't even the slightest indication that granting such a request would have caused Bell any harm. By allowing Bell to carry on business as usual, while supposedly "educating themselves to the intricacies of the issue", the CRTC was just reinforcing the bias we already knew this case would suffer from.

Even before this motion was filed, we knew just by Bell's very blatantcy in everything they did, that there was a reason for their "confidence" - they knew nobody was going to stop them. And, by the time anyone finds a way to put Bell before a REAL court, they will have completed a new infrastructure that will not be shared with the competition (also thanks to a previous CRTC ass-kissing session).

I'm not saying there's nothing we can do about any of this.

We need to view the CRTC just as we do the Mainstream Media - a farce!
If we want anything to change, we need to use other avenues where our voices are heard, without the interference of the Corporate Lobby Mechanism.

Swamp the Government with complaints - all available departments that have any connection with the issue, not just Industry Canada. Whenever possible, refuse to support any company or public office that doesn't support your constitutional rights. Stop feeding the Beast! And, let everyone who is feeding it know how wrong it is to do so, and how much we all lose as long as they keep doing it.

Bell's throttling is not actually the disease we need to treat, but merely a symptom of a much bigger plague we've suddenly come to realize we're in. We ARE gonna LOSE EVERYTHING if this whole Corporate Control Scenario is allowed to continue past this point!

conflict of interest and an ethics issue?

Perhaps a committee in parliament to see how ethically challenged the CRTC is.

So, working off a previous post, the VP of the CRTC worked for Bell for 11 years and CAIP who was working against Bell's corporate interests was kept out of the loop on multiple occasions, correct??

Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't there something very wrong about that?
