You claim this is your blog, yet you also claim this is a news site. But above you said it the best. It’s your opinion you are posting here. A News Site that argues one side of the truth does not belong on the front page, but instead belongs in the Editorial section.

I check this site occasionally, however, i find the way you format your articles to be highly annoying. As someone new to this site, it seems that you drive too off-topic in each “news post” that whatever point you were trying to achieve has become moot.

This immediately sets off many alarms as the proclamation of this is a clear indicator that there is a firm belief “their” rights trump your own, obviously this is the wrong road to head down and such people using these words are often seen not to inform or help or even educate but to declare selfishly their own agendas using the platform you have worked hard to build as their place to make a stand.

I dont believe they are helping anyone but themselves and often all I remember about any specific case is whether they sought to help or hinder the topic under discussion.
The key indicator I look for is the one of intent, was their aim to bring something to the discussion table or merely to point out the supposed failings of the forum ?

Its my rule of thumb that senseless personal attacks have no real place on the net, on the other side of the coin solid evidence based rational posting of information has always been acceptable and lets be honest if we didnt like the flavour of Jons sauce that is thrown into the stories we would likely not be here.

Its a big world out there and we can all voice our opinions, but we must accept that in doing so in other peoples web spaces is not a right, we are all free to build our own platforms to pronounce from if we feel what we have to say is under reported.

I don’t think you’ve read my post properly – Jon kept deleting it. In it, I was certainly criticising him quite strongly, but *not* threatening him. Doesn’t look like he can take a bit of criticism really, frankly.

Also, did you see the article he put up about trolls a little while ago? He put up some of the messages we exchanged – carefully selected to bias in his favour. Shit, talk about washing your dirty clothes in public!

Then he started banning my username, denying me a voice when I tried to reply in my defence – yes, I can use a different username, but that’s not the point. This action sounds more like a totalitarian state than someone trying to promote free speech and power to the little guy, isn’t it?

I’ve suggested many times now to put up an easily clickable link for posting rules, but he doesn’t do that. Instead, he puts up whiney little articles claiming to want to allow free speech (but banning “trolls” of course) and continues to censor anything he finds a little inconvenient. Sound a bit like certain corrupt entities perhaps?

Jon, I think you should have a, “weekly threats” post. They’re fun (but if they go to far you should do “something”).

Jon, I applaud your determination to keep p2pnet alive, despite the difficulties you must experience in narrowing your choice of support options. And, I applaud what you have already accomplished with the site.

If ever you find yourself having to abandon the p2pnet project, I certainly would not hold it against you, and I would still be grateful for the good you have brought to the internet, and to me.
