Platinum Blonde Kenny MacLean, dead at 52
p2pnet news view Music:- Scots-Canadian musician Kenny MacLean, a member of Platinum Blonde, has died.
“The 52-year-old bassist was found in his apartment-recording studio,” says the CBC.
He’d only just released his third solo album, Completely, last Friday, says the story.
“This is devastating,” the Toronto Star quotes Mark Holmes, former Platinum Blonde lead singer, as saying.
He’d performed with MacLean at a showcase for MacLean’s new album and, “He was incredibly happy,” said Holmes, “everything was going well for him.
“Kenny and I even got together on the stage and sang three songs from old times. It was one of the happiest nights. It was kind of like a send-off. It was a big and successful party.”
Local police were releasing few details last night, says the National Post, but, “early reports suggested Mr. MacLean succumbed to a drug overdose and was found in the early afternoon by his sister,” it says.

Not a drug overdose. Kenny was taken by a heart problem.
