Spammer says CTV is spreading ‘vile lies’

p2pnet news view | Advertising:- Montreal spammer Adam Guerbuez (right) says a Canadian television network is spreading lies about him.

Judge Jeremy Fogel ordered Guerbuez and his company, Atlantis Blue Capital, to pay Facebook $436.2 million in statutory damages, and another $436.2 million dollars in aggravated statutory damages, for violations of the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act (CAN-SPAM), p2pnet reported yesterday, quoting Agence France-Presse.

Not that Max Kelly, Facebook’s director of security, expects Guerbuez to actually paid the money, says the story.

And that’s because Canada’s absence of anti-spam legislation, “could prevent Facebook from securing any of the nearly billion-dollar judgment,” says the Globe and Mail.

“Although Facebook acknowledged Monday that it was ‘unlikely’ it would recover the full amount, the company said it plans to squeeze Mr. Guerbuez for everything it can, and that the default judgment sends a powerful message of deterrence to would-be spammers.”

Meanwhile, Guerbuez is accusing TV network CTV of spreading lies about him.

“Tonight I had several people contact me about a very disturbing news clip about me that aired on Ctv network news,” he says on his blog, A day in the life of Adam Guerbuez, going on »»»

In the video they spread vile lies about me, including one that has caused quite a bit of damage. They state clearly that I have an EXTENSIVE CRIMINAL RECORD for VIOLENT CRIMES and they show some paperwork on a case that I was wrongfully accused and acquitted of all charges by a judge and jury trial in the year 2001.

I have absolutely NO criminal record, I have never in my entire life been convicted of any VIOLENT Crimes or any convictions for that matter. A National News Network spreading this kind of slander and defamation of character is beyond my comprehension and I will have this matter dealt with. Any one out there reading this who has an opinion , feel free to post it as a comment.

Stay tuned.

Who is this guy ? never heard of him

  2. cody Says:

does a spammer have rights? (besides remaining silent forever)

  3. John Says:

A retraction or apology from CTV is not acceptable. News Agencies or anyone else can’t simply “throw something” out there and then declare “oops”. Just as the US Court determine there must be consequences to your past actions (Facebook), so to should there be consequences to CTV. This is the only way people “get it”. Sue CTV, for let’s say $873M. Then have it assigned to Facebook.

  4. Lance Says:

I agree with John on this one, the media can not just spread lies like that especially ones saying someone is a violent criminal and has a criminal record for all his extensive crime history as they put it, this is unacceptable. I hope he sues them in Canada of course, for all the damage caused by it. Ctv disgusts me, this is an all time low for the media in their attempts to fabricate a story that will turn as many heads as possible. Shame on you CTV

  5. Reader's Write Says:

Dosen’t matter if he is a violent criminal or not – he has been CONVICTED of spamming, so he is a scum bag.

  6. Bob Says:

As we are all aware, spammers aren’t worth the shit stuck to their anal hairs…. and this feculent little pussbag is no different. Let’s all hope Facebook goes after him till he’s living on the streets in a cardboard box.

  7. Reader's Write Says:

How about this…. he lives in Canada… I live in Canada…. and if he spams me again… then I will find him and KICK HIS FAT ARSE!!!

  8. Ryan Scott Scheel Says:

CTV broke a law. They should be punished.

  9. Jeff Says:

    Rule #1: Spammers Lie.

    Enough said.

  10. freeman Says:

let’s see if this is a scientology type attack or is it for real
if CTV wrongfully attacked this guy then they should pay for all his damages and then some so they won’t do it again

Either way this needs to be sorted out.

  11. freeman Says:

it has yet to be determined who did what and to what costs, i let the big boys fight it out and make a good show of it ;)

spammers suck, big companies and media lie by only giving the partial truth … lets’ see what kind of a game they both playing first

if this is another way to lock down or take over our internet then it’s time to fight back!

  12. Dave Says:

    Kill the spammer

  13. Reader's Write Says:

I have been a viewer of CTV for many years and there was a time when they felt like family. They now insult me to the point I can’t watch anything they are involved with. Every news cast has their “robots” plugging their favorite products by using a Starbucks, Tim Hortons, and others as a backdrop. Reporting in or near venues that are blue and orange(company colours) or having those they interview or themselves using a “Blackberry” or a coffee with the label clearly visible. They talk about their own TV shows as though its news you need to know and I’ve even noticed blackberry shit being put into the scripts of these TV shows they run now. Law and Order for instance. If you watch 100 shows, at least 80% of them mention Hitler, the holocaust, or remind you they are jewish. A large majority of their “Experts” they interview on the news are jewish. They own so many news venues that theirs is the only opinion you can get. They even have the power to get government MPPs to mention or show blackberrys. The news used to be the news then a commercial break…now its advertising with a news break. Canadians need to wake up fast. We, like the U.S. are run by Goverments for the Corporations, NOT FOR THE PEOPLE!

The DRAMA while reporting heavy rains with waist high water when it is clearly only half the hight of a car tire in the shot, or when a tot falls 20 meters from a three story building. If it didn’t depress me so much it would be comical.

I could go on and on but I’m getting ill literally just typin this. Oh….and I can’t wait to be called paranoid and antisemetic for saying this. Its like eating the same meal every day for years. Sooner or later you get sick of the same garbage. I would query the CRTC on the legality of all this but it would likely be ignored.

    In my opinion

  14. what? Says:

This guy deserves everything he gets…he has never made an honest dollar in his life. Hope he finds himself in the streets one day….I’ll piss on him for free!

  15. Reader's Write Says:

Interesting that the reply message requests no spamming…perhaps they should request the same of Adam. I fully believe in karma, and spammers are nothing other than scumbags who don’t have a life.
