Kevin Fetter videos astronaut’s lost tool bag
p2pnet news view | Cool:- That hairy looking ball in the right is Earth, or at least the European Space Agency’s view of it, complete with space trash.
“Space debris comprise the ever-increasing amount of inactive space hardware in orbit around the Earth as well as fragments of spacecraft that have broken up, exploded or otherwise become abandoned,” it says, and, “More than 8500 objects which could be classified as ’space debris’ can be detected through ground-based surveillance and radar detection systems,” says a United Nations site for the kids.
Make that 8,501, thanks to US astronaut Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper who lost her tool bag while as she was making a repair to the international space station.
It may be lost, but it certainly won’t be forgotten, thanks to Canadian amateur astronomer Kevin Fetter who lives in Brockville, Ontario.
He spotted the tool bag, filmed it and posted his video on YouTube, where it’s being joyously reproduced by space fans from around the world.
