uTorrent — for Apple Macs

p2pnet news view | P2P:-  Is uTorrent the most popular BitTorrent client?

It probably is. But not for Apple Mac users, although the promise was there as per the pic on the right.

However, The Day has finally arrived for Macolytes.

“Now the lightweight power and performance of µTorrent available for your Mac,” says the site, adding:

“This is beta software, and may contain serious bugs. We think it’s stable enough to share and hope your feedback will help us improve it.

“Please share your feedback on our forums.”

    Yay!
It will soon be on linux (gtk/ncurses not wine).
    … hopefully.

This isn’t about popularity. It’s about functionality. We wanted something with a small RAM footprint which didn’t slow down the other running programs, and which could select which files in a torrent to actually download. Also, uTorrent isn’t loathed by tracker admins for sending too many pings.

  3. Reader's Write Says:

    Best Bit Client out there!
Runs great in a virtual machine and now even on a Job Book.
However I think they should try making a iPod Touch version for shits and giggles to see if it gets approved
