BNL’s Steve Page ‘upset’ after drug bust
p2pnet news view Music | Crime:- When Barenaked Ladies lead singer Steve Page (right) was busted for possession of cocaine hidden in a can of talcum powder, “We are confident that our client, Stephen Page, will be completely exonerated,” CTV had Nettwerk Music boss Terry McBride, Page’s manager, saying.
But McBride was wrong and according to the Canadian Press, “Former90210 hunk Jason Priestley” says he was as “stunned as most Barenaked Ladies fans” when his friend, Page, was found guilty of drug charges earlier this year.

Many of you have probably read or heard press accounts about Steven Page`s recent arrest in New York State.
Steven has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and the validity of the charges against Steven will be strongly contested.
While this is happening, it`s business as usual for Barenaked Ladies. We will continue to perform and look forward to heading into the studio later this year to record a new album.
But it was far from business as usual for the band, one of Canada’s favourites.
Among other things, Page’s adventures forced it to cancel a kids’ concert slated for Disney Music Block Party on Long Island, New York.
CP quotes Priestley as saying Page is doing well, but is ‘upset’ that he got caught up in the situation to begin with.
But not to worry. He got away with a light slap on the wrist.
“Last month, a New York state judge said Page would be acquitted of drug charges if he stayed clean for six months,” says CP.
An acquittal is the opposite of a conviction.
One wonders what would have happened if some ordinary citizen had been found guilty of a similar charge.
Meanwhile, why do famous male people all sport haircuts which make them look as if they’ve just been frightened out of their wits?
