New Music bites the dust
p2pnet news view Music | TV:- Who killed the video star? – asks the header to the pic on right, Clipped from New Music.
But a better question would be, Who killed the programme?
And the answer would be CTVglobemedia, MuchMusic’s new owner.
One of MuchMusic’s longest running programs, it’s, “included in a list of cuts made last week,” says Chart Attack.
Production staff were, “given the boot along with more than 100 other employees,” it says, adding:
“The NewMusic predates MuchMusic since it launched in 1979 as a flagship hour-long show on CityTV. It moved to Much when ‘the nation’s music station’ launched in 1984. At the time of its cancellation, the show had been shortened to a half-hour program that aired on Monday nights.”

This was the only show worth watching on Much. The next would be the Fromage at the end of each year to show how bad music and videos can be!
