Amazon Christmas spirit

p2pnet news view | Advertising:- On the heels of its UK music site launch, Amazon is giving away free Christmas-themed music downloads!

One a day every day for 25 days!

WOWEE!

Available so far are: Why Can’t it Be Christmas All Year,” Rosie Thomas; Elf’s Lament, Barenaked Ladies with Michael Bublé; Angels We Have Heard on High, Sixpence None the Richer; Last Christmas, Leigh Nash; and, The Gift of Sacrifice, Maren Ord.

“Trouble finding your holiday spirit?” – asks the blurb. “Don’t worry — download our free Amazon Holiday Sampler featuring artists like Bing Crosby, Peggy Lee, the Beach Boys, and more, and you’ll be putting up the tinsel and standing under the mistletoe in no time.”

Someone actually got paid to write that. ;)

The site implies anyone anywhere can download one of the Christmas songs. But predictably, you have to be signed up with Amazon.

After that, “Downloading from Amazon MP3 is fast and easy, and MP3s are automatically added to your iTunes or Windows Media Player library when you use the Amazon MP3 Downloader,” it promises. “MP3 downloads play on virtually all MP3 players, including the iPod.”

Then it’s between 80 cents and a dollar for each track.
