p2pnet news view Games | P2P | Politics:- Apparently, Muntazer al-Zaidi, the 29-year-old Iraqi journalist who became instantly famous when he hurled two shoes at George W. Bush, is to star in a TV comedy show and has   also inspired web games.

Al-Zaidi was supposedly taken to a Baghdad hospital with “a broken arm and ribs” as well as “injuries to his eye and leg,” after a beating by security forces, said his brother, quoted by to Agence France-Presse. But whether or not he was actually injured remains open to question.

Meanwhile, in the satirical series Zang-i-Khatar (Alert Bell), Bush will feature a segment in which rather than ducking the shoes, he’ll be hit, “squarely in the face,” says The Telegraph.

“The US president is highly unpopular among most ordinary Afghans and footage of him ducking as an Iraqi reporter Muntazer al-Zaidi hurled two shoes in his direction at a press conference on Sunday has been shown repeatedly on television.

“Now the country’s favourite comedy show will use actors to reconstruct the bizarre press conference, ensuring that this time the shoes hit Mr Bush.”

Hanif Hamgaam, the show’s producer, “said he wanted to send a message of solidarity to Iraq,” says the story.

As far as games go, on www.sockandawe.com,  a, “pun on ’shock and awe,’ the term used by U.S. military officials to describe the initial air assault on Baghdad in 2003,” gives players 30 seconds to try to hit Bush with a shoe as many times as possible, with the score appearing in a corner of the screen, says Reuters, adding:

“Players are greeted with the command: ‘OBJECTIVE: Hit President Bush in the face with your shoes! Do it’!”

On-target shots are met with a “well done” message, it adds.
