Throwing shoes: start of a trend?
p2pnet news view Cool | Politics:- Has Muntadhar al-Zeidi, the angry Iraqi who launched a ’shoe intifada’ against George W. Bush, started a trend?
“Bush is not the only one who deserves shoes in his face,” says a p2pnet Reader’s Write, going on:
“Harper should definitely get one.
And by the way, “they did it again! In Ukraine, a journalist threw _boots_ at a pro-NATO speaker.”

After Muthathar al-Zaidi, an Iraqi journalist, threw both his shoes at President George W. Bush during a news conference in Baghdad, the method of protest seems to be gaining popularity in other countries. In Odessa, during the opening ceremony of the Euro Atlantic Cooperation Centre which took place in the South-Ukrainian Pedagogical University, a journalist expressed his protest is a similar way.
Around 100 students were present at the ceremony. Oleg Soskin, a member of the Ukraine-NATO Social League Coordination Council, was making a speech when he was interrupted by a journalist from one of the local TV channels, who shouted: Students, you`re young and promising, don`t you listen to these stupid and marasmic old homosexuals! The journalist then took off his boots and threw them at Soskin.
The post is on LiveLeak, but natch, it’s also been picked up on YouTube.
Who’ll be next?
Definitely stay tuned.

The next thing you know, journalist will need to remove their shoes, and leave all heavy cases and notebook computers out in the hallway for any official press conference.
Though I do feel that soon to be ex- President Bush (hurrah!!) deserved much more, and look for someone to seriously scrutinize the legality of this entire administration, using a mico-fine toothed comb.
I know, what about letting bush go free (with his entire group of advisers) in downtown Wallstreet, and if they survives that, dropping them off alone in Baghdad, after the entire US military has left the country? Then, MAYBE he might understand how the people feel about their decisions.
Just my two cents
