Santa is Canadian, says Stephen Harper

p2pnet news view | P2P | Politics:- George W. Harper’s hard pressed government is trying to use Santa as a PR helper.

“Less than three weeks after the Canadian government proposed legislation to expand the country’s sovereignty over Arctic waters, its citizenship minister is shoring up Canada’s claim to the Far North by declaring Santa Claus, a longtime resident of the North Pole, to be a Canadian citizen,” says the Montreal Gazette, going on to quote Jason Kenney, minister of citizenship, immigration and multiculturalism, as saying:

“The Government of Canada wishes Santa the very best in his Christmas Eve duties and wants to let him know that, as a Canadian citizen, he has the automatic right to re-enter Canada once his trip around the world is complete.”

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

No need to stay tuned.

Well I agree with the “legislation to expand the country’s sovereignty over Arctic waters”. Canada has to move fast on this and also build up a military presense there (bases/ sci-stations). Thue USSR is already wanting to fight over it as well as a couple of outhers. I don’t want to see Russion oil wells in our North.

But declaring Santa to be Canadian instead of multi-national? Thats going overboard on the propaganda a bit.

Watch the news we have been showing a presence in the arctic for over a year now. Ever since the Russians have been patrolling the area.

  3. Reader's Write Says:

During this crisis the country will run out of money; so, let’s sell Alberta to the United States and the Arctic to Russia :)

  4. chronoss2009 Says:

howabout we just sell conservatives to the USA …KEEP alberta and the arctic for ourselves.
