MPAA’s new boss
p2pnet.net News:- Dan Glickman, an ex-Kansas congressman, former Secretary of Agriculture and a one-time member of member of the House Judiciary Committee, is taking over from Jack Valenti as president and ceo of the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America).
Glickman’s son, Jonathon, is a Hollywood careerist, “which has allowed me to learn a good deal about this fascinating world,” says the new MPAA boss.
After leaving government, Glickman became director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard University, says a statement, going on, “There, he directs a program designed to encourage students at Harvard and around the nation to engage in the American political process, in a non-partisan manner. He also serves as a teacher at the Kennedy School of Government.”
Valenti praised Glickman as a long time friend and said Glockman will be a “powerful, successful steward of the MPAA”.
Valenti will continue to supervise his voluntary film rating system.

like he wont use his political sway/influence to try and push more self-serving laws through the US political system. It would have been a surprise if the new boss hadn’t had some politicking background.
