Windows 7 beta ‘postponed’
p2pnet news view | Advertising:- “Due to very heavy traffic we’re seeing as a result of interest in the Windows 7 Beta, we are adding some additional infrastructure support to the Microsoft.com properties before we post the public beta,” says Microsoft guy Brandon LeBlanc.
The post is slugged ‘Update on Windows 7 Beta Availability’.
Why do we need an update, Brandon? Hadn’t your bosses already promised yesterday would be the day for W7B2?
But Microsoft is going to be late.
As usual.
No public release of Microsoft’s Windows 7 beta.
:sigh:
The first release of MW7B was, of course, on the p2p networks.
Come to think of it, that was public.
But it wasn’t official.
Now we’ll just have to wait for W7B2, complete with “killer things“.
But what else is new?
Here’s what Microsoft does:
It makes promises about when its latest product will be released and once it’s wrung them dry, comes up with some lame excuse or another as to why it can’t, after all, release it, whatever it is.
It keeps the game up for months or years and when it does finally let the thing, whatever it is, go, it’s awkward, buggy, full of holes and were it not for the fact it’s pre-loaded (pre-sold), it’d be a dud.
Can you say Vista?
Meanwhile, “Stay tuned!” – says Brandon excitedly, complete with exclamation mark.
“We are excited that you are excited!” – he says, complete with exclamation mark.
Wheeeeee! (Complete with exclamation mark.

I’m sick of hearing that “the server was down due to excessive demand”. With torrents, the download performance simply gets better the more demand there is.
GET WITH IT MICROSOFT.

*yawns* I’m about as excited over this as I was about Vista. For all the hubb bub, Vista was a dud. Looks like they winding up for a repeat and this point. Hype I pay very little attention to. It sure won’t push me to buy.

dasman, the keys are what people are hammering the servers for.

” Vista was a dud. Looks like they winding up for a repeat and this point. Hype I pay very little attention to. It sure won’t push me to buy. ”
They know this.
It’s no accident that Vista is forced on the buyer of a new machine.
Given a choice, most would pass on vista.
There isn’t likely to be much of choice when it comes to this ‘new’
product either.

I know many of you have had issues with the Windows 7 Beta site over the last 24 hours. As you may have noticed the download site has been up and running smoothly since this morning. That said, we apologize for the inconvenience that it caused some of you.
Due to an enormous surge in demand, the download experience was not ideal so we listened and took the necessary steps to ensure a good experience. We have clearly heard that many of you want to check out the Windows 7 Beta and, as a result, we have decided remove the initial 2.5 million limit on the public beta for the next two weeks (thru January 24th). During that time you will have access to the beta even if the download number exceeds the 2.5 million unit limit.
Thank you for your enthusiasm, interest and willingness to beta test. It has been great to see the positive early reviews and feedback. As you know, this is a beta product. We are working hard to get Windows 7 ready and right. Your input is a critical part of that process. Thank you!

” Don’t bother tried it, its crap could’nt even get a stinking creative sound card going on it. Try again M$. ”
Creative soundcards don’t obey hardware based DRM locks.
Older video cards are the same way.
They don’t WANT you to be able to run hardware that can’t be shackled.
trust me, the problem IS deliberate.
