The pigopolists demonstrate time and again their lack of or unwillingness to understand how a free market works.

Supply and demand folks. If what you supply is more expensive and less useful than what we are willing to put up with, we will be wandering off elsewhere to get our stuff. Whatever that stuff may be.

And if you don't move with the times, other people will do it, and you will be left wondering where the revenue went.

Piracy fills a gap in the marketplace left by big media's disinterest in adaptation and a proper open and free market. Collusion and corruption have left them, after a period of many, many years bloated, stupid and very vulnerable.

If they continue to ignore the problem, well it won't be their problem forever, because dwindling returns on investment will continue to dry away till they have to sell the whole thing to someone with some clue how to run a business these days.

This is not the seventies, this is not the eighties, this is not the early nineties. Things have moved on.

And I for one say its about bleedin time, cos I was fed up with you big media wankers.

" “They want to be able to play their movies on their computer, ipod, or whatever device they’ve bought, and DRM gets in the way. If movie sellers make it difficult for consumers to play their movies, then they will sell less films.”

Period, Full stop. And end of story. "

And ... as more and more discover that freely downloadable versions are actually less trouble than
PURCHASED versions, they'll lose even more.

Reasonable price, no DRM hassles = big sales. AllofMP3 was the proof that they STILL choose to ignore, and
avoid discussing.
It CONTINUES to make money under a different name, competeing effectively with free .. btw, without a
lot of difficulty.

It is most interesting that they desperately wish to ignore the very model that would save them.

It's worse than stupid. It's just sad.
