Scientology’s L Ron Hubbard: master musician
p2pnet news view | P2P | Music:- Music got me online in the first place and p2pnet is very definitely there for independent music and independent musicians.
So it’s with great pleasure I introduce you to someone who, while very dead, is known around the world.
Just not as a musician.
Do you recognize those golden locks? Some among you will because this unacknowledged musical genius is none other than the man who, although he’s no longer with us in body, is still around in the form of a miasma. And who knows? He may have been responsible for Tom Cruise’s recent yearning to become a singer.
Yes! It’s Cult of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, known to friends and fans alike as Elron.
He dreamed the cult up, but did you know his “research into the spirit and life included discoveries in music and acoustic?”
I’ll bet you didn’t. But as, “Director, arranger, performer and composer, L. Ron Hubbard explored virtually every aspect of musical endeavor” and, “in addition to composing, took it upon himself to conduct a thorough review of musical history and form,” says the Ron the Music Maker site.
Not only but also, “From this research comes his analysis of country-western, flamenco, traditional Oriental and even rock music.”
What a guy!
It may be difficult to grasp how Elron, “put together a highly energized big band,” says the intro, “And in doing so, has solved a problem the likes of which Buddy Rich and even Woody Herman” failed to do, namely, “focus the energy of a combo in a big band, a feat which is like harnessing the atom.”
Wow!
And here’s something else I bet you didn’t know.
“If he never counted himself a professional musician in the strictest sense, his name is still synonymous with cutting-edge innovation.” So says the Elrone site.
“Among the first to tap the potential of computerized music, his incorporation of natural sounds into the actual fabric of songs was at least a decade ahead of its time,” it states, “while his mid-1970s essays on musical structure and instrumentation continue to influence professionals far and wide.”
It goes on »»»
… particularly among top professionals, the name L. Ron Hubbard typifies an understanding of music – how it best conveys emotion, how it excites, how it lulls and how, ultimately, as he wrote, “you can do anything you want to with it to make it communicate the intended message.”
Such insight! What a guy!
Here’s his gripping exposition on the creation of rock music »»»
There are probably as many opinions about what is rock as there are tastes in music and you are perfectly at liberty to disagree with any of the following as it is simply a summary of what makes rock rock and you may be a devotee of rock or abhor it. But we are not dealing with taste here or preference, we are simply dealing with a very generalized analysis of a type of music.
History
The origins of rock are differently assigned by different experts on the subject. They do seem to agree that it originated as a genre in the mid-50s.
Rock seems to be a joining of at least two streams of music: One stream comes from the West Virginia Hills in the form of ballads. West Virginia music however traces directly back to the “buskers” – the street singers of England who covered themselves with buttons and were prominent in central London 200 or 300 years ago. [Note: These 'buskers'were, and still are, better known as the Pearly Kings and Queens.] The bulk of the songs you find in West Virginia originate as busker songs with the difference that the buskers sang the melodies much prettier in that they introduced minors. By the time the Scots and English with that music settled in the hills of West Virginia, their treatment of the same melodies which had been in minor chords took on the form of major chords.
The other stream would seem to be from New Orleans where jazz had gained a beachhead in America. Jazz actually comes from Africa on the route of the slave trade through Martinique and then to New Orleans. This music flowed up the Mississippi, often taking on the tinge of spirituals.
These two streams, possibly colored by others, arrived at centers of music, one of which was Nashville.
Rock is not a pure genre in the sense that it mushes together several real genres. But I can assure you that rock has been on the track almost as long as there has been music.
Sadly, there don’t seem to be any online examples of Elron actually performing, and a diligent search of the P2P networks availed us nothing.
However, I’ m sure many more treasures will be revealed to anyone who cares to plumb the depths of Elron the Music Maker.
No need to stay tuned.

I had the misfortune of hearing Hubbard’s “Thank You For Listening” recorded with ClearSound ‘technology.’
At what perhaps is supposed to be a climactic point of the song, Hubbard’s voice is painfully obviously artificially deepened.
While the music is awful, he did engage people like Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke and others to actually play it.
But if you ever get the chance to hear “Thank You For Listening” be forewarned that it might induce nightmares for years to come.

^^ The music is not online but the lyrics are in ron the poet (http://www.ronthepoet.org/poet/lenvoi.htm) and they wil add nausea to your nightmares.
Thank you for listening
I write just for you
But others hearing this may find
Things they would argue.
I do not sing what I believe
I only give them fact
If they believe quite otherwise,
It still will have impact.
For truth is truth and if they then
Decide to live with lies
That’s their concern not mine, my friend,
They’re free to fantasize.

@ Maggie:
Corea and Clarke had both been sucked in by CoS, hadn’t they? So they weren’t responsible for their actions.
But Clarke, at least, has since seen the light, says Scientology Lies –

I don’t know when that was posted.
Cheers!

Isaac Asimov really enjoyed L.Ron singing while strumming on the guitar. But it is typical of him and his cult to turn a little something into a turning point in the history of man.

Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard on his deathbed told his son
“You know how to get rich… start a religion.” admitting that Scientology is nothing but a fictionally created story.
Scientology is nothing but a corporation that thrives off the ignorance of it’s followers by selling them and whoever else books, and courses on how to “improve” themselves spiritually.
One of their expensive scams is that they will sell you for extremely large
amounts of money a series of books that in the end are supposed to teach you how to walk through walls…. and after spending long hours of self deceptive meditation, a lot of money, and reading you become brainwashed to believe that you can actually walk through walls and when you try to and end up bumping your nose against the wall you are told that you couldn’t do it because you’re not ready yet however there are more books and courses available that will someday make it possible for you to do so for larger amounts of money butt not really.
Scientology = manipulative corporate scam brainwashing moneybaggers club
Scientologist = manipulated misguided fool
I know someone who got sucked into that Scientology I didn’t know he was a Scientologist until one day, about 4 years ago, he said “Rob here’s a book you should read.” He passed me Dianetics by L. Ron Hubbard. I laughed and said “L. Con Flubbfart ha forget it.” For the first time in the years since I’ve known the guy he displayed anger and I’m talking very angry!!! Verbally with an agressive face.
After that display he went on to talk about the ability to walk through walls, he hasn’t reached that level but he plans on getting there etc…

Hubbard also did a music soundtrack for his book
“Battlefield Earth.” I don`t know why Travolta
didn`t use it as the soundtrack to the movie.
It would have been a match made in heaven.

There must be 50 ways to leave your Scientologer
You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don’t need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don’t need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
and get yourself free
