Ontario man pays 419 scammers $150,000

p2pnet news view | Crime:- A Mennonite follower in Ontario, Canada, thought he’d found a kindred spirit, also lucking into a huge windfall.

But he was wrong on both counts and instead ended up as another victim to a Nigerian 419 swindler, winding up in debt to his friends and family to the tune $150,000.

John Rempel told the Windsor Star he, “quit his truck driving job, lost friends, borrowed money and crossed the globe in pursuit of a non-existent inheritance,” says the story, going on »»»

Rempel said he borrowed $55,000 from an uncle in Mexico and his parents gave him $60,000 on credit to cover fees for transferring $12.8 million into his name.

“They’re in it now because of me,” said Rempel, 22, breaking into sobs.

“If it wasn’t for me, nobody would be in this mess. You think things will work out, but it doesn’t. It’s a very bad feeling. I had lots of friends.

Rempel, “lives with his Mennonite parents in a simple wartime home in Leamington, about 50 kilometres southeast of Windsor,” says the CBC, going on:

“The email told the 22-year-old a distant relative had died in a bomb attack in London, England, and left behind $12.8 million.

“He said the email was from someone claiming to be an attorney named Matthew Spencer, who said he represented the relative and was looking for someone to claim the fortune.

“Spencer was a world away, but convinced Rempel they shared a faith in God, he said.”

p2pnet gets at least 10 of these scam emails every week, as do literally millions of people around the world.

And yet somehow, the Nigerian government is unable to nail the criminals or stop the flood.

Rather than a scam, I think the whole thing is just a misunderstanding and that’s why the poor guy and his relatives lost so much money. He just didn’t know how to take advantage of the offer.

I’m sure he’ll do better next time.

It’s sad to see one of my own (mennonite) being tricked into something so horrid, yet, it’s sad to say it does not surprise me.

What’s prevalent in Canada and most countries is that most to almost all PPL don’t know their rights or don’t seem to much care till they are attacked or abused. It’s definitely not taught in schools so power hungry can have power over them.

In Canada for instance we have 2 Canada’s. One is for Free Individuals and the other is Corporation of Canada for all services given by our government and provincial governments. I bet you didn’t know that Corp. of Canada is listed on securities exchange and is making money on your behalf. You, each and every one of you that has a registered birth certificate is earning money for them. You are worth the amount of Canadian resources divided by number of people in Canada . That’s millions of dollars. Your profit / dividends amount to 100’s of thousands of dollars per individual. Guess is about 400,000 per year per individual.

Each service you sign up for, whether it be drivers license, insurance, hydro, health card, taxes etc. is slowly taking away your freedoms, piece by piece. It’s a very deceptive trick in the use of words that is perpetrated by Corporation of Canada.

Go learn from Thinkfree.ca and get back your freedoms and or learn how to get what you are entitled to. This knowledge is taking Corp of Canada by storm, changing laws, acts etc. It’s actually making the powers that be stand up and listen, in some cases driving them totally mad.

John should look into this as it would clear his debts.
