Cats with a paint job
p2pnet news view | Off Topic:- Normally when you think of “Painting cats” you probably think of a painter, canvas, and a cat being painted ON the canvas.
I do anyway.
Well, think again! This has no doubt GOT to be one of the weirdest crazes EVER!
It all started out with a satirical book written by Burten Silver of New Zealand, and illustrated by Heather Busch.
Several people apparently thought this was not, in fact, a comedy, but dead serious.
Some of the paint jobs these cats get cost up to $15,000!
They also have to be re-done every 3 months, because this is how long it takes for a cat’s new fur to grow in. (http://www.snopes.com/photos/arts/paintedcats.asp)
Many people (including myself) think this is completly, utterly moronic. Mind you, an orange and blue cat WOULD be good for starting a conversation!
But I for one think it’s not a kind thing to do.
It’s like guilding the lily. Cats are already (IMO) among the most beautiful kinds of beings there are.
Why do they need to be painted? What I find myself wondering is this: If you love your cat (which these owners do, I’m not denying), why do they feel you need to change them?
If a person loves someone, they often tell that person they, “Wouldn’t change a thing about them”. So if people love their pets SO much, then why do they feel they need to change them?
Often it looks pretty, but prettyness isn’t everything.
I love Max and Lola (our cats) just the way they are.
And that’s it!

This is just a temporary aberration. In the distant future, no one will take art seriously unless it’s tattooed on a fat guy.
