MiniNova 1,000th Content Distribution user
p2pnet news view | P2P | Music:- Dutch torrent index site Mininova says its signed on the 1,000 th professional user of its Content Distribution service.
Canadian national broadcaster is already using it to distribute its controversial Next Great Prime Minister show.
Now, “Through content distribution, we have already had about 5.800 uploads and 15 million downloads,” says MiniNova co-founder Erik Dubbelboer.
That means some 40.000 downloads a day.
The amount of data that has been downloaded equals a pile of CDs of about 30 kilometers high!”
When the service was first announced, The Red Band film company, shooting the new half-hour comedy TV series Pariah Island, which parodies reality TV shows, “chose Mininova as its sole distribution channel, making it the first site of its kind to work directly with a content producer,” said p2pnet.
Content Distribution lets producers and artists to bring their work to the attention of the public, free of charge, says Dubbelboer.
“It’s the perfect solution for bands that don’t have the means to bring out a record yet.”
Since the launch in 2007, an average of three participants a day have registered, he adds.
