p2pnet news view Music:- Celebrity imbiber Chad Kroeger of Nickelback fame has decided not to challenge his conviction for speeding in his Lamborghini after he’d had too much to drink.

Real name Chad Turton, he was allegedly nearly twice over the legal alcohol limit when he was stopped near Vancouver, BC, said the Canadian Press at the time.

His lawyer tried to argue the Mountie who stopped him in 2006 had conducted an unlawful search when he told Kroeger/Turton to blow into his face.

An officer noted he had, “red, glassy eyes and a red, flushed face,” said the CanWest News Service.

“He allegedly handed over his credit card when the officer asked for his driver’s licence.”

But a spokesman for the BC Crown Attorney’s office said Kroeger’s appeal, slated to be heard by the BC Supreme Court, was dropped early yesterday, says Canwest. ”You have to admire how unsubtle they [Nickelback] are with metaphor, like in the song Something in Your Mouth, for instance,” said EyeWeekly.com editor Stuart Berman on the news the band had five prizes at the corporate music industry self-love fest known as the Juno awards.
